- Read assigned article, Mayer, R. E., & Moreno, R. (2003). Nine ways to reduce cognitive load in multimedia learning. Educational Psychologist, 38(1), 43-52.
- Find ONE web tool (social networking, media, drawing, whatever) and write 3 pros and cons for the use of that tool in an educational context. Try and connect your comments to the reading about cognitive load. In addition to the pros and cons, find ONE example of a good use of this tool in an educational setting. You can pick something from this list at Box of Tricks.
- Start thinking about your first project – podcast or digital story. Post 2-3 ideas to the class blog, tagged with “project1”. Respond to your classmates’ ideas, helping them decide.
Post one blogpost for each assignment, so there should be a total of 3 – one with pros and cons, one with an example, and one with your project ideas. If you have any problems, let me know!
